About Us

About Us:
Prarombhik (প্রারম্ভিক) is a student-led, non-profit initiative focused on Biology, Health, Environment & Sustainability.
Having begun as a grassroots awareness effort in rural Bangladesh, it now spans across several countries. We conduct various types of initiatives to educate people about pressing biological and environmental issues. Our goal is not just to inform, but to empower youth to create change through science-based understanding and community-driven action.
Main Project Drives:
Project Ibn Sina (Disease Prevention Education)
Ibn Sina (Avicenna), author of The Canon of Medicine, emphasized disease prevention, hygiene, and public health. His works laid foundational principles for modern preventive medicine.
Project Nightingale (Women's Health)
Named after Florence Nightingale, the pioneer of modern nursing and a flagbearer of hygiene & compassionate care, this Drive focuses on our works promoting women's health, personal hygiene, midwifery, nurture, & community wellness.
The Al-Balkhi Wellness Project (Mental Wellbeing)
The 9th Century pioneer of psychotherapy, Al-Balkhi emphasized the interconnectedness of the body and mind, advocating for a holistic approach to mental well-being, including cognitive therapy and addressing environmental factors.
Project Maalin (Vaccination & Vector-Borne Disease Education)
Ali Maow Maalin was a health worker in Somalia, & was the last known person to contract smallpox who later became a global advocate for vaccination.
He dedicated his life to polio eradication and vaccine awareness in countless underserved regions.
Project Bose (Plants & Ecology)
Jagadish Chandra Bose was a Bengali polymath who is credited with the discovery that plants respond to stimuli, proving that they are alive.
Project Ingrassia (Swimming & Water Safety)
Named after Giovanni Filippo Ingrassia, the man who identified the Stapes bone in the middle ear, this project serves as our work towards swim training & Water Safety education in rural areas of Southeast Asia.

Our Target Demographic:
• We work with school-aged children from rural, semi-urban and traditionally conservative backgrounds, as well as blue collar workers who are often neglected, looked down upon or shamed for not having academic certificates. We believe every human has their right to proper healthcare knowledge.
What We Do:

Organizational Structure

Our structure is divided into three main tiers:1. Central Board of Directors
The Central Board of Directors is the core decision-making body responsible for the strategic direction and governance of Prarombhik. It comprises:
President:
The highest authority who has to approve the final decisions, & represents Prarombhik at the highest level.
Vice-President:
Acts as the primary support /emergency substitute to the President, ensuring smooth operational execution.
General Secretary:
Manages communications, maintains records, and coordinates affairs with Country Represantitives to ensure effective collaboration across the organization.
Treasurer:
Oversees financial management, ensuring all funds are handled transparently and all transactions are properly documented.
Executive Directors:
Other core directors as needed, who contribute their expertise to guide & shape Prarombhik's initiatives.
2. Regional Coordination
To manage our international presence, Prarombhik appoints Country Representatives:
Each Country Representative is firstly an Executive Director responsible for coordinating all local area groups called Chapters within their designated country.
They oversee local progress, challenges, and opportunities, ensuring regional activities align with our global mission. And most importantly, they keep in touch with the Organizers & report back to the Central Board.
3. Chapters
On field, these groups drive our day-to-day initiatives. A Chapter consists of:
